I finally have an internship! Weeks of researching placements & interviews are now over, as I’ll be the new design intern at two.one.five magazine beginning Monday. SO EXCITED.
My cooking adventures continue! Two dinners from this week: spinach penne with vegan cheesy sauce & roasted asparagus, and couscous with balsamic vinaigrette and lots o’ toppings. (Asparagus, mushrooms, red&yellow pepper, kale and tempeh!)
I should work on my posture. More importantly, Rachel and I went on an outing to the Print Center – I told you I was going to go – so that I could marvel at Amy Stein’s work in person.
The face of an adoring fan. (Does the photograph on the wall look familiar?)
The Print Center is a neat space, and I plan on making repeated visits during my time here. I liked almost everything I saw!
Afterwards we walked along South St. to Isaiah Zagar‘s Magic Garden. It’s a huge and composed entirely of mosaics.
It’s official; a.k.a. music is officially my favorite store in this city. I haven’t owned a CD since like, middle school, when I listened to music far too embarrassing for me to proclaim on the internet. Anyway, my non-CD owning status changed dramatically this past week.
From top to bottom!:
Lovers — Sleep With Heat
Tender Forever — The Soft and the Hardcore
Great Lake Swimmers — Bodies and Minds
The Innocence Mission — Umbrella
Lake — Oh, The Places We’ll Go
Antony and the Johnsons — I Am a Bird Now
Antony and the Johnsons — The Crying Light
Finally… I’m incredibly lucky & happy that I’ve been receiving a fairly steady stream of beautiful & thoughtful mail since I’ve arrived. (I’m looking at you, Ally!) I have received cards and letters and envelopes made out of lovely paper that I’ll never throw away, and two books I’m so excited to read.

Yujean –
Thank you for the kind words. I am so glad you enjoyed my show at the Print Center.
Best,
Amy
AESTHETICALLY PLEASING LIFE
a nice letter from me will be added to that pile real soon, i promise!
Yujean!
I’m in Philadelphia now. Swarthmore, rather. And two.one.five magazine graced my house’s bathroom for all of last semester, because my hallmate is a Philadelphia insider, and now I know everything about Philadelphia hip-hop. I don’t see the city much, and I don’t get to eat or cook good vegan food very often either, so if you’d ever like to ride trains and snuggle up with another small liberal arts college, or play host, we should make a date. Hope you are having good adventures.
Soon,
Jessi
amy: it was my pleasure!
emily: do you have my new address?!
jessi! i’d love to meet up. whenever, wherever.
