My weekend was pretty much perfect (and it isn’t even over yet). I went to New York City yesterday and spent the afternoon and evening with Amina, whom I haven’t seen since last December. We walked around Central Park and got into the Frick Museum for free & even had a mini private tour; dinner was enjoyed in a roofed garden.

(What is that gray smudge in the middle of my photo?! I do not know.)

This morning I went to the bookstore where Tristan volunteers while he operated the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) that he co-founded. I drank coffee, ate the most delicious bagel from Russ and Daughters, and wrote cards to mail.

Lauren came in the early afternoon and we shopped, visited a tattoo studio, ate solidly good food throughout the entire day and evening, and walked for miles and miles. The people at Invisible NYC & Makeup Mania were incredibly nice to us; the the shopkeepers at the latter even let us pick out free things for ourselves before we left.

Lauren beams over her (excessively large) vegan thai iced tea, which she assured me is a rarity.

My brief but exhilarating trip came to a close with red velvet ice cream before I hopped on the bus back to Philadelphia.
