My wardrobe never saw a yellow item until I bought a pair of flats in a pinch months ago. Since then, I’ve teetered into wearing it every once in awhile. The past few days in Philly have been dreary; if it hasn’t been raining, we’ve been under the constant threat of it. When the weather’s like this, it’s easier to succumb to simple comfort, which I did happily. The bright yellow tights add a pop of color to an otherwise dark outfit, and reassurance that more sunny – literally – days are ahead.

I keep going for patterns that look like watercolors.
This black top from Rebecca Beeson is as simple as it gets. I always roll up long sleeves so the 3/4 length on this is ideal. I know many people are resistant to investing in basics, but this shirt’s at least 7 years old and has retained its shape, color, and hasn’t developed any holes.

Black top, Rebecca Beeson
