I spent the better half of a recent Sunday afternoon poring over the sixth issue of Elephant Magazine. One of the featured artists is Nomoco, whose pieces manage to be emotive and whimsical. (And beautiful, of course!) Skill aside, I’m also drawn to these because she repeatedly incorporates my favorite shades of blue and green. [...] I came across photographer Jane Tam’s portfolio yesterday. According to her website, Most of her photographic work explores the weaving of Chinese and American cultures and how it defines many offspring of working class immigrants. Flowerpots from Crictor on Vimeo. This weekend was the Art Star Craft Bazaar. My friends and I went bright and early on Saturday morning, in spite of the rain. To our enthusiasm, the vendors’ booths seemed endless, and it was inspiring to see so many kinds of creative capabilities. Below are some of my favorites – I did [...] I’ve had my nose buried in Peter Turnley‘s Parisiens. Here are some of my favorite images and hello, Decisive Moment! [...] I just spent quite a bit of time looking through Carl Kleiner‘s website. I love the variations of lighting in his works, strong use of geometry, and the Alice in Wonderland references. [...] I really wish I’d gotten photos like this when I went to Korea in January. These were taken by Yoon JeongMee. [...] I was recently united with my best friend Skylar for the first time in nine months. She spent the better part of this year traveling through China, while I finished up college and moved to the east coast. Her ongoing photography project documents Chinese restaurants in Northeast Ohio, and she’ll be having a show in [...] I finally had my film from my trip developed, and have begun the process of scanning and viewing pages upon pages of negatives.
